Good products still fail
Developing an innovative product isn't easy. Even acclaimed companies with talent and money can encounter big problems. Having run into a few existential threats ourselves, we know how to overcome them. And how to get an idea to market.
Services
What you can engage us for
Four deliverables, scoped individually or as a single programme of work.
Market sizing
TAM, SAM and the competitive landscape — segment arithmetic that survives a board's questions.
Due diligence & valuation
Technical and commercial diligence for investors, acquirers and boards, and defensible numbers for a raise, a licence or an exit.
Pricing
What the market will bear, and the structure that captures it.
Positioning
The category story — hardest, and most valuable, when the category is new.
Approach
Fixed-price deliverables, on tight deadlines, with constrained resources.
- 01
Scope
We agree the question, the deliverable and the date before any money moves.
- 02
Fixed price
The engagement is priced as a deliverable, not as an open meter.
- 03
Deliver
You get the artefact you can act on — the model, the matrix, the memo — on the agreed date.
Work
Defining a new product category
For a recent engagement, a life sciences company requested market sizing, due diligence, benchmarking, competitive matrix, pricing, valuation, and positioning for an invention that defined a new product category.
Good listener. Trustworthy.
Honest. Follows through. Relentless.
These are a few of the things that molecular diagnostics and nucleic acid therapeutics companies mention when asked, why Granite Point?
Team
Formed in 2015
Granite Point Ventures was formed in 2015 by a group of executives from the molecular diagnostics and life sciences industries. Careers span advanced technical degrees from respected institutions, the leading of focused teams, and progression to leadership of global business and product units.
Along the way, we encountered our share of challenges. These experiences created in each of us a unique tool kit on how to approach people, business, and technical matters. Moreover, we learned how to get to the heart of a problem, how to define objective goals, and how to construct action plans that realize fixed-price deliverables on tight deadline and with constrained resources.
